Laser cutting stainless steel quality determination of nine standards

How to judge the quality of laser cutting? Here are nine criteria.

roughness

Laser cutting section will form a vertical grain, grain depth determines the roughness of the cutting surface, the shallower the grain, the smoother the cutting section. Roughness not only affects the appearance of the edge, but also affects the characteristics. In most cases, the need to reduce the roughness as far as possible, so the shallower the grain, the higher the cutting quality.

perpendicularity

How to make the thickness of sheet metal exceed 10mm, the perpendicularity of the cutting edge is very important. Away from the focus, the laser beam diverges and the cut widens toward the top or bottom, depending on the orientation of the focus. The cutting edge violates the vertical line by a few millimeters. The more vertical the edge, the higher the cutting quality.

  • Cutting width

Generally speaking, the cutting width does not affect the cutting quality. Only when the internal components constitute a particularly fine induction, the cutting width has an important impact. This is because the cutting width has chosen the minimum induction, when the plate thickness increases, the cutting width also increases. So to ensure equal precision, no matter how big the width of the cutting, the workpiece in the laser cutting machine processing area should be stable.

transformation

Suppose cutting heats the part up so rapidly that it deforms. This is particularly important in fine machining, where induction and connection pieces are generally only a few millimeters wide. Control of laser power and use of short laser pulses can reduce component heating and avoid deformation.
