Appear burn trace how should solve?

When using fiber laser cutting machine for sheet metal processing, especially some work piece has a lot of sharp corners, so it is easy to occur sharp Angle ablation when cutting. So how did this problem arise? How can we solve this problem?

1. Causes of sharp Angle ablation:

When a fiber laser cutter is used to cut the sharp corner area of the template, the laser beam’s movement speed drops to zero as it turns from one side of the processed sharp corner to the other, and then accelerates again to the normal speed. Therefore, the laser beam stays in the sharp corner area for a relatively long time, but the energy of the laser beam does not decrease in the speed change process, and the laser beam is always in the working state. As a result, the heat of the machined template is highly concentrated in this area, and the cutting paths overlap with each other, increasing the temperature at the sharp corners. Although the heat affected area of CNC laser cutting machine is small, but the heat dissipation surface area at the sharp corner is small, the heat transfer effect is poor. The overlapping heat-affected zone on both sides of the sharp Angle makes the material melt at high temperature, and the erosion of the high-temperature auxiliary gas leads to the ablation of the sharp Angle of the template, resulting in the phenomenon of “missing meat”.

2. Solution:

Sharp Angle ablation is mainly caused by the change of cutting speed at the sharp Angle, so theoretically it can be prevented by adjusting the cutting route of the fiber laser cutting machine to reduce the change of cutting speed.

In the cutting process, you can bypass the arc, to ensure that the cutting speed is constant, the arc idle can cool the cutting side of the working edge temperature, so that the other side of the processing of the heat at the sharp corner will not be too concentrated, so as to ensure the integrity and smoothness of the sharp corner cutting.

Although the problem of sharp Angle ablation can be avoided by adjusting the cutting path, it requires manual adjustment by machining personnel, which consumes a lot of manpower and time, and is not conducive to mass production. If you want to solve the problem of many sharp corners and large amount of cutting, you can add supplements. Adding a patch means adding a small patch at the sharp corner of the cut. This method can effectively ensure that the sharp Angle will not be ablated and the size of the sharp Angle will not change. For the template with sharp corners on the outside, adding a patch can not only prevent the template from harming users during use, but also ensure that the template will not be damaged during use.
