How to prevent summer condensation of medium/high power laser?

May Day suddenly increased the temperature, let us feel the feeling of summer. As the temperature rises, we must pay attention to the prevention of laser condensation in the high temperature and high humidity environment. When the cooling water temperature of the laser is lower than the corresponding dew-point temperature in the following table, dew-forming will occur.

Therefore, set the cooling water temperature based on the actual temperature and humidity environment (in the cabinet). Ensure that the cooling water temperature of the laser is higher than the corresponding dewpoint temperature. At the same time, meet the water temperature requirements of the laser (body temperature: 21-25℃) and refrigeration requirements, otherwise, the laser may cause high temperature alarm.

Measures to be taken for different areas in the table are as follows: The dew point temperature in the white and green areas is less than 20 ° C, which belongs to the safe range

Measures: Normal cooling water temperature can be set according to the requirements, the water temperature range is 21-25℃.

Yellow area: The dew point temperature is between 20 ℃ and 25℃, which is a dangerous area

Red area: Dew point temperature > 25℃, condensation will definitely occur, must take measures before use

Measures: If there is enough redundancy in the cooling capacity and flow of the water cooler, the water temperature can be adjusted to about 1-2℃, which is simple and easy, but the effect is limited.

The cabinet is sealed and equipped with an external industrial air conditioner to control the temperature and humidity inside the cabinet. It is equivalent to the laser working in an isolated space with constant temperature and humidity, which can effectively avoid condensation. At the installation site, a small air-conditioned room may be considered if space and cost permit. Laser and cabinet work in this isolation room can also be very effective to avoid condensation.

Note: The cooling water temperature setting in the table above refers to the water temperature setting of the laser body. The cooling requirements of the external optical path (QBH interface) are more relaxed for the water temperature. The water temperature can be properly raised to be higher than the dew point, but it should not be higher than 30℃. When the device is disabled, the AC power supply of the laser should be disconnected and the water cooler should be turned off.
